I've tried two separate tests and the links in my articles all become ping.fm shortened links when the software posts the articles even though I have bit.ly enabled and valid account information.

I even checking the Settings file and the xml shows <IsBitEnabled>True</IsBitEnabled>

Please help.

Can you please ensure that your bit.ly username is all lower case please

If you would like to test with my details then they are noted below

also please ensure you enable the bit.ly url shortening by selecting the checkbox

It was my fault. 

I was entering the account password instead of the API key.

Sorry about that - I should have read the instructions more carefully.
